The Free Little Art Gallery at Waverly Park is a space for your creativity. Anyone can contribute, and every single piece of art brings something special to our neighborhood.
Reasons to leave your artwork at the gallery
- Joyful, Direct Connection: There is a unique magic in knowing your art will go directly into the hands of someone who genuinely fell in love with it. It’s an anonymous gift that can instantly brighten a stranger’s day.
- The Perfect Creative Sandbox: Because our gallery is informal and free to all, it’s a wonderful, zero-pressure space to experiment. Try out a new medium, test a new style, or share quick sketches that might otherwise just sit in your sketchbook.
- Boost Your Visibility: If you are looking to grow your audience, leaving art is a fantastic way to get your name out there. You are always welcome to include your social media handles or website on the back of your pieces so finders can look up more of your work.
- Cultivate Local Community: By contributing, you are actively helping to make art accessible to everyone in our community and keeping the spirit of neighborhood generosity alive.
Please Read: Artwork Guidelines
Ready to drop off a piece? To keep our mini-gallery organized, safe, and beautiful for everyone, please keep these simple guidelines in mind:
- Think Small! Because space is limited, all artwork must be “little”— please no larger than 4″ x 4″.
- Any Medium Goes! Get creative! We love variety. Some great examples include:
- Drawings, prints, or photography
- Paintings on mini-canvases
- Poetry printed or written on a small scroll or card
- Mixed-media or tiny sculptures
- Painted rocks
- Keep it Family-Friendly: Because our gallery is publicly displayed outside at a neighborhood park entrance, we ask that all artwork feature positive, family-friendly messaging and non-divisive themes.
- Made by You: Art created by YOU—and especially artwork made by children—is highly encouraged!
- Be Respectful: Please be gentle when placing your piece inside. Be respectful of the gallery display and mindful of the artwork already waiting for a home.
- Have Fun! There are no mistakes here, just self-expression.
💡 A Note on Crowding: If the gallery gets super popular and starts filling up, don’t worry! The curator will gently rotate the artwork every few days so that every single piece gets a chance to be clearly seen, appreciated, and enjoyed.
